Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme

Today I will review Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in Crush. This is a matte liquid lipstick. It is a limited edition item which is getting sold out very quickly. I got mine at CVS for $6.29 with 30% off coupon. My review is solely on the color Crush. There is 0.21 oz of product.

Crush

Packaging 9/10

This product is in a clear sturdy plastic square packaging with gold cap. There is a gold sticker on the tube with the color information. I would have liked the name of the color to be embossed on the tube as Milani is written on the tube with clear background for aesthetic purpose. Also, all other information could have been added with a sticker at the bottom. Nonetheless, packaging is very practical and travel friendly.

Color 10/10

Crush is described as "brick brown" on the Milani website. I would describe the color as brick red with a little more brown to it which I love. Crush definitely has some red undertones to it which helps the color to be more wearable and  stops it from looking black. This color will be perfect for Fall. These lipsticks may not be available till Fall since its being sold out quickly, I will recommend this shade to picked up as soon as possible.

Texture 10/10

This is a liquid matte lipstick. The lipstick has soft vanilla smell to it, something similar to Stila stay all day liquid lipstick. The texture is also similar to Stila liquid lipstick. It has medium thickness and slight moussy feeling. It applies smooth and opaque. A thin layer of application is enough for coverage. If you want the color to be darker, a second coat may be applied.

Application and Longevity 9/10

As with any matte lipstick, well exfoliated lips will be a perfect base. I would also suggest using a lip moisturizer, let it sit for 5 minutes, then remove the excess off the lips before application. Crush went on smoothly and covered all pigmentation of my lips. Usually dark colors come out a little uneven in color application based on the way its applied, but this color was opaque and even across my lips. I didn't have any area with light and too dark application with this lipstick which is common with dark colors. The lipstick didn't accentuate any cracks or lines on my lips, which I loved!

One downside for this lipstick is that it takes about 15 minutes to dry. Whereas, my Stila liquid lipstick sets in about a minute. I know for some, this may be a inconvenience to wear and wait. However, the lipstick doesn't budge once it sets. This doesn't feel sticky or anything once it dries down. I sometimes even forget I have something on my lips. It lasts me about 4 hours untill it shows any fade. The lipstick begins to fade from my inner mouth and out. Which can be fixed with another application. My Stila all day liquid lipstick begins to crumble on my lips, but stays put for hours. Then again, Stila is $24.00 and Milani is about $9.00 which is a major price difference. With such high quality for less money, I am willing to reapply. It is easy to remove with a makeup remover which is a plus point because some lipsticks are hard to take off and makes my lips sore after all the scrubing. These also didn't dry my lips out, which is fantastic.

Overall, this product is very comparable to higher end liquid lipsticks. I have been trying lots of liquid and matte lipsticks lately. Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in Crush is a deal in my mind because it is such high quality product. I want to get more colors now. Looks like I will be walking into CVS soon with my fingers crossed because these are going fast.
